This freshman course was designed to offer an introduction to computer science. Students will learn the basics of computer science and programming using Python programing language. The course emphasizes computational thinking and helps develop the ability to solve problems using principles of software development, style and testing. Topics include variables, control structures, animation and functions. The course was designed to be used in a blended classroom and is part of the Amazon Future Engineer program. (0.5)
Lectures, tests and daily assignments for this course are posted on Schoology.
Through the support of Amazon, the entire curriculum is online and can be accessed through Edhesive.com. All students participating in the Amazon Future Engineer program received a free membership to AWS Educate which provides them with free access to computing power in the AWS Cloud for their coding projects and content to learn about cloud computing.
